Witchcraft Laws:
This is a list of ideals that we try to adhere to:
A love of nature, we try to work with nature rather than control it.
The Goddess and God are of equal status we see balance as important, for balance of female and male energies are needed for fertility.
Sylvan Wicca is a coven of earth or low magic, concentrating on working with the elementals, intuition ,folk magic ,chants, spells, Herb craft, and sympathetic magic, we have a back to basics attitude. We see witchcraft as a simple religion, some of the ritual may be complex, but the religion is a simple ,uncomplex concept.
We don't believe in making money from Witchcraft. We don't charge for outercourts and a very small charge for initiates is taken to cover the costs of candles. If something is needed then sometimes a quick whip around will be necessary.
Individualism is important, we are all individuals who work together towards a common goal .We don't have to conform. no uniform is a symbol of this as it expresses our individuality.
discipline should be self - discipline. We are all adults and there should be no need to pull someone into line. If necessary discipline will be dispensed by a council of Elders.
Equality of all within the coven .All of us are of equal status in the eyes of the Goddess and God, and within my eyes. The priesthood are coven co-ordinators and teachers and not the 'boss' . They will be given respect within circle as is traditional but should never be fawned over.
We will try to harmonise with the West Australian seasons and cycles, and try to incorporate what happens here into traditional seasonal celebrations.
Everybody has something worthwhile to share and teach that is interesting and important. It doesn't matter if its not of world shattering occult importance.
We will attempt as often as is feasible , even if its only a couple of times a year , to get into the bush to worship nature in nature.
We are attempting to keep our group small, believing its easier to grow as a group that is small enough to know and trust rather than constantly changes faces all the time as larger coverns by nature tend to do.
We don't demand that people participate every single time, realising that peoples families come first , or that they must attend work ect... they should attend because they want to , not because they feel they have to . Although consistency is appreciated and taken into consideration in terms of training.
We try to encourage environmental friendleys.
Not everybody see's the world the same way , therefore different paths are needed . Different people learn the same path in a different direction. There are many different ways of looking at the same thing. Respect your sisters and brothers that look at it differently, obviously your path looks more correct and 'shinny ' to you , but each path may be right for the individual needs and learning necessities for that person. Do not think that their path is any less important or of less value , remember such thinking will only encourage others to think less of your methods of learning, it breeds anger ,as we need to feel respected.
A knowledge of mythology is useful so that the Pantheons may be used within circle to bring in specific energies in , for example the Goddess Hesta for the blessing of a home.
We believe in taking responsibility for our own actions.
An it harm none, do what thout will.
People have a right to earn a living from healing and divination as long as our religion is not exploited.
Respect shall be given to all other coverns ,groups and religions ,as long as they respect us.
Respect of our traditions is expected, i.e., ,,don't get drunk and brag about Witchcraft at parties!
Death is not an ending of existence but a step in an ongoing process of life.
each and everyone of us who follow this path has no need of others between themselves and the Goddess and God, but may find her/him within themselves.
The Sylvan Witches do not seek converts, but will try to make the way open to those , who for reasons of there own seek the path of the craft.
